lots of great advice, but if the board has a ski jump, it's fooked.
Sadly, that is the case here,. I tried everything, and with a huge relief and high saddles the strings still bottomed out. Dude at Derros tried everything I did, then admitted it was cactus.
They had one other fretless, a Fender Player Jazz with Pau Ferro fretboard. Beautiful, matched my MIM P bass in colour.. I'll post a new NBD thread for it.

BUT if I EVER hear someone say their Squier VM is as good as a Fender I'll punch em in the face lol. Shit pups and bridge and tuners on the Squier, on par with my SX, which actually has far better pups, at a quarter the price.Squier smchmier

You've probably returned it yes? Got your money back etc. and put it toward the Fender player?

Just putting it out there that if the board is as thick as Steve's was yes your probably stuffed. Sometimes the ramp isn't so bad that you can resurface it and save it, especially with a fretless. How big is the ramp on yours compared to the thickness of the board?

Ebonol baord, can't be sanded. Sounded plastic too

I gave it a full turn but then turned it a half the other way.
What amazed me was how quickly the neck adjusted both ways. No "quarter turn and wait a day" business here. Turn and look, turn and look

I have 4 Fenders. Love them all, no faults. One of them I didn't even play it at the shop. "Nah, it's a P I know what it sounds like" a bit risky but hey I can always return it hehe

But this Squier VM did not have that quality feel about it.

I won't argue the ebanol VM fretlesses aren't super exciting, I briefly owned the jazz one and it really wasn't to my taste, but I"ve been barely more impressed by some MIM or MIJ fenders. I'm yet to have a terrible US one, but I'm aware they're out there. That said, my benchmarks instruments come from a very different place.

I've had one of these for a while and it hasn't really had the use I'd hoped. I put tapewounds on and the sound and feel is odd - maybe it's the metallic coating on the ebonol? I probably should try chromes, or even rounds since the condition of the fingerboard really doesn't matter

you hit the nail on the head, the ebonol board sounds 'tinny'. It's not very durable, just a couple of songs and the roundwounds left marks all along the board.
