1983 Fender JV Precision Bass - $1500 or Trade 57 or 63

Post by dogswamp » 06 Sep 2018, 00:39

Excellent condition 1983 Sunburst Japanese Vintage series Precision Bass.

This bass would be mint condition except for a couple of decent size character adding bruises that I've shown in the photo's, apart from those, the finish is in perfect condition, free of scratches etc.

The bass has had a recent re-fret and plex service before I bought from the previous owner, even though the original frets didn't really show much wear at all.

Plays beautiful, nice slim neck, low action, currently strung with Flatwound strings

Sell for $1500 ONO, or would also be interested in trading for an AVRI 50's or 60's PBass.

Geez mate where did you find that? Very rare indeed. I picked up an 84/85 Squire Japan SQ serial Precision lately for $280. It needed a bit of a clean up but I gotta tell ya this thing sings. Better than any American P bass I’ve played. Just love it. Hope you sell yours man. Rare as rockin horse poop that JV is. Cheers

It is a very nice bass, and in beautiful condition, but the neck is a wee bit slim and light feeling for me these days (which is the opposite of how thing were 12 months ago after hand surgery)

i got one of these from Terry (OneHandClapping).

I'll never sell it. In my eyes its the best bass i own, possibly, bar the Status Series 2000 #38 that I should never have sold, the best bass i have ever owned..

And that is in comparison to the Veillette Citron I also got from Terry, which is a high end boutique bass.

The JV plays itself.

I've got an early 82 P JV in white as well and love it. It's on the never sell list!
