I call BS, Italy 0.3 cups a day? maybe in kndergarten but once they hit ten years old I doubt these 'stats"
Digging a bit deeper....
Note about the data:
The cups measurement we used is equivalent to 8 fluid ounces. Euromonitor provided data in liters, which we converted to ounces and then cups, before dividing by the number of people in each country.
8 fl oz = 238mL.
Since 60% of coffees served in Italy are espresso (30-40mL), that stat actually holds up although misleading. It was the only chart I saw with Australia on it.

Try this pretty picture......
Image

even though this site claims 3.7kg per capita annually.

Don't know if this is interesting to you coffee drinkers but these guys are two obsessive coffee people that happen to be sailing around enjoying life making videos. I've been following them for a little while now since I got hooked on their RV adventures.

I have to drink coffee in the US often. I don’t know what they’re going to do when they run out of tyres to roast the beans over. After that my expectations are pretty low :)

I stayed in Manhattan in 2011 for the World Police and Fire Games. One of the guys we were with found a dude from Melbourne who had opened up a shop in Brooklyn initially and then moved his business to Manhattan. I just googled his business - looks like it's going ok - he now has 3 shops! His coffee was as good as any I have in Australia. We'd walk 10+ minutes to get there and pass a dozen starbucks. As soon as we walked in he'd make out coffees and then come out from behind the counter and sit with us. Fun times!

It was always full of Uni students, Europeans, and Aussies.

Grumpy’s was also good. However the default coffee in the US, even if you make it yourself is burnt :(

Our Expobar Brewtus had to go for a service this week after some pressure switch crapped is pants. Going to pick it up Friday was seriously a joyous occasion. Took a photo to celebrate its home coming.

I have just picked my first crop of beans. In the process of shelling them after drying and before roasting. Even if it tastes really bad will still be great coffee :-)

Sadly no. They would be very expensive beans :-) I just haven't yet worked out a faster way than to shell each one by hand. I should get these ones done before the second crop arrives though. Shelling is now complete. I have a bunch of green beans waiting for roasting. Should get to that tomorrow

my 2nd hand sunbeam crema I bought for $50 is a little like making instant coffee for me. I use the same beans my fav coffee shop uses (Melba 'No 6 blend' from organic micro lots around melbourne apparently), but the result is poor in comparison. sigh.

You’re all giving me espresso envy, and that view to go with as well, gorgeous. I have to get by with pour over and a tiny skinny really pretty crappy machine as I’m not permitted to take up that much space in the kitchen, I shudder to speak the name out loud but it’s a delonghi dedica. Pressurised basket, timed shots, fairly horrible steam wand, but flat whites seem to impress the father in law who usually gets coffee from McDonald’s so... must be the beans :rolf:

I’m using padre beans as they’re just up the road, convenient.

Aldi has Aeropress on sale from Wednesday. I think I may pick one up for when I travel for work. Blend 43 and UHT milk is getting to me.

Aero press is good for limited space travelling, especially if you get the porlex mini grinder that fits neatly into the centre of the plunger half.
