Thanks for the donation :)

I just added a Paypal Donation button at the bottom of the forum. This button will help you donate quickly to the forum and automatically upgrade your membership to Supporting Member.

I'd like this forum to start on the right foot and be extremely stable. We've had problems with slow connecting speeds a couple of times and there's the persistent problem with the forum cookies, that one is an inherent bug in phpBB, the free forum software used here.

I'd like to be able to raise enough money to buy a commercial forum software license such as vBulletin which is used on TB. That at least comes with decent support and you'd expect most bugs to be ironed out. I'd also like to get a better faster reliable webhost.

All donations are voluntary. I won't put in any restrictions on supporting or non-supporting members. I do appreciate donations though and supporting members will have a "supporting member" group ID.

Please forward donations to my e-mail adress:

You may pay with Paypal or direct deposit, e-mail me for my bank details.
So it at philmailloux@yahoo.com is that right.

Thanks Paul all good and received, if you're not using the default forum skin you wouldn't see it and be missing on a few forum mods

Hi Phil,

Regarding supporting membership, does the website automatically upgrade posting priviledges (for want of a better term!) once the PayPal payment is made, or does a moderator need to enable it? I can't seem to find a "new topic" or "new thread" link anywhere.

Cheers :)

Phil processes it manually. It might take a day or two.

Check your email to see if I already sent you one or pm me the email adress linked to your paypal account.

In case anyone asks, when I receive a donation I go to the member's list and search on the email address the userlogin attached to it, most of the time I find the the username and can upgrade it right away. It just gets more complicated if the user's emails address is not the same as the paypal account, then I need to email the member and ask him for his username, sometimes poeple don't check or even use that email then they end up having to wait forever until they get upgraded or until they send me a pm asking me whats up.

So for upgrades, if your account hasn't been upgraded the same day, send me an email or a pm to remind me, include your paypal email address so I can confirm

Hi - you can donate via the donate link at the top rhs of the forum. You can use paypal with a credit card without needed a paypal acct.

Phil may take a day or so to let you know the bank details as he is crook at the moment.

Pm me if you need more details.
