FS/FT Warwick German Pro Corvette $$ - Trades added

Post by FunkyJase » 22 Mar 2018, 22:34

Purchased new from The Bass Centre in sunny, tropical Melbourne for the princely sun of $2800 - I think Im slowly coming around to the fact that I really am simply a P bass kinda guy but I will DEFINITELY miss the neck on this thing. So straight with an impossibly low action. No buzz from the 1st to the 24th fret! It's a 3 piece ovankol neck with a wenge fretboard, the usual truss rod and two thick-ass steel bars that go from fret 12 to 24 to really stabilize the crap out of the neck. The 3 piece design makes the neck even more stable and it will never budge... I know some of the early Warwick necks are pretty flat and weird to play but this neck is definitely similar to a jazz neck. The Warwick afficianados will tell you the necks have changed over the years and whilst this neck isnt exactly like a jazz neck, I go from playing a jazz to playing this and the only difference I can feel is my right thumb resting on a humbucker rather than a single coil... Oh and I have installed a detuner on the E String which has been adjusted to allow accurate tuning. They Warwicks dont really suit the drop tuner because the other tuning pegs get in the way when dropped but this one has been filed back to make sure it stays perfectly in tune... Original tuner included...

This bit taken from The Bass Centre's website:
"Warwick German Pro Series Corvette 4 $$ Active Antique Tobacco with gigbag

This is the latest series of German made Pro series basses from Warwick, representing unbelievable quality and tone that we have all come to expect from Warwick. Solid Ash body, Ovankol neck, twin MEC humbuckers (switchable series/single coil/parallel) and active 2 band MEC preamp. Brilliant tonal versatility whilst always maintaining that signature Warwick growl. Warwick 2 piece bridge, adjust a nut system, gigbag included.

It does P bass pretty good, jazz bass VERY good and Musicman bloody awesome (in my opinion) and it's pretty bloody light too!

Im based in Melbourne (Frankston to be exact) but happy to arrange a meeting anywhere thats convenient and if you're happy to take my word for the fact that this thing is in perfect condition, I'll arrange to ship it if you dont mind footing the bill...

$1700 neg - Make an offer! If it doesnt sell at this price Im keepin' it ...
Would be keen to trade for a Musicman Stingray of a Passive 5 string bass...

I'll throw in a brand new Dunlop clip on tuner as well.

Bass Centre is selling the same model:

Gasing for this!!
Really nice looking bass. I like the smaller body and fast neck. Similar to my MIJ Fender 'lyte'.
What's the weight like compared to your P Bass? Is it passive too? Any idea of shipping costs to NSW?

Its about 3.9kg which is a bit less than my P bass and it seems to sit in the guts a bit better. The smaller body makes it feel lighter if that's possible :-)
It's active but it's switchable between passive and active...
I'll get a quote for freight but Im willing to meet you half way on the shipping price :-)

I'll PM you the shipping total when i get it.

I've got a Steamer $$5 And it's light... very lightweight for a 5er especially. I'm thinking of passing on my Stingray 5. Just coz the $$5 will do all that and more with less weight.
