Status of Mailloux Basses - 2013

Post by Phil » 17 Dec 2012, 05:20

A few would already know about this since I've been telling everyone I meet for the last 6 months or so but thought it was better to make it official.

I'm taking 2013 off as a sabbatical from taking orders. I've been going non-stop for about 4 years now between the full time job and what seems like full time bass building in my spare time, it's time to recharge my batteries, build a couple of personal project instruments and do a study or two for work. The last two basses that were ordered last year, #023 & #024 should be ready by January, I'll start taking orders again for new builds likely in January 2014, in the meantime I might post a few threads of personal projects on the forum once in a while.

Thanks everyone for making my hobby business so succesfull, maybe too succesfull, I need more hours in a day :D i'm off to enjoy a few free week-end of doing *nothing* now :yep

Have a great year, Phil, and enjoy yourself . Now you can spend a bit more time with the Mrs.

You better keep us up to date on your projects, too.

Thanks for all the nice words guys, Chris, got your voicemail :), Pete, enjoy yours too! Yvan, I'll try to get back to planet earth and smell the roses :D I think it'll be great to decompress from the stress for a while :yep

There should be a couple of threads of personel projects this year anyway, first one is an acoustic guitar and should be started within a few weeks

Nah, mum's too expensive, its cheaper to use kids in a Chinese sweatshop, only $1 per day of labour for 12 sets of handwound jazz pickups
