Australia played really well last night. Pretty impressive, a much more likeable performance compared to what they did against the french. I'm surprised Eriksen didn't get at least brace after that early goal.

I bet Caltex are very happy with their investment so far. Good thing Timmy isn't getting paid based on game time.

last night confirmed my fears.

Tim Cahill was picked SOLELY because of the Caltex sponsorship. The ads about Cahilltex etc.

If he didn't come on with half an hour to go last night he never will. That was HIS time.

About five crosses were unmet, Tim would've connected with some of them.

Better perormance by us last night, but without a penalty we can't score. Young Aziani was awesome. He needs a full game, get rid of Kruse, his time has gone. Shame Juric hurt his knee as I'm sure he would've played the whole game otherwise

I thought Leckie was outstanding, then Aziani came on and WOW, what a player. Those were the two standout Aussies for me.

On the Danish side, the whole back field was excellent, as was their keeper, but Sisto ..... he's something else isn't he! Awesome talent, you can't relax when he's anywhere near the ball.

Agree about Leckie and Aziana but Aaron Mooy was my standout player - not only in this game but against France too. Very, very solid in defense, did one helluva lot of running and work, put players in the gap with great passing and was very unlikely not to score last night with that super shot.

I also loved how Mile didn't let the goalkeeper get in his head when he lined up to take the penalty. That goalkeeper is super high quality and it was great to see those two face off like that.

if any OzBass members' kids are good at scoring goals, start gearing them up to be ready in four years time, WE NEED STRIKERS.

What we need is good attacking midfielders that can run on and cleanup the mess ...
Aaron Mooy can do that if Yedinak played a bit more forward and allowed them that space ... Yedinak needs to trust his center backs more.

One of these days the FFA will realise that playing friendly games againt Oman, Fiji and English club sides who are on their end of season trip with their families is no way to prepare the Socceroos to play the style of game required for do-or-die matches against the best national teams from Europe and South America

I think I liked the World Cup better when everyone was happy just to see Australia qualify.

^ Hadn't heard the result but figured we'd lost when ABC radio 774 John Feine said something along the lines of how disappointed it was that we couldn't progress further. Pete I think you have it right, why can't we be happy that we qualified and got beaten by better teams? I say well done Socceroos!

we can't settle for just qualifying,we need to progress past the group stage

we left Oceania to get stronger and better

we've done neither

our 2006 side was full of players that played in all the big leagues overseas. This side is A League standard. Not up to it.

Our junior programs have not developed any great players, FFA must start spending money on them.

1998: France win the World Cup
2002: France eliminated in group stage

2006: Italy win the World Cup.
2010: Italy eliminated in group stage

2010: Spain win the World Cup.
2014: Spain eliminated in group stage

2014: Germany win the World Cup
2018: Germany eliminated in group stage.

So just don't win the World Cup and you'll be sweet as!
