he's not a bass player, but The Smithereens are one of my all-time favourite bands.

Here's the first song of theirs I fell in love with. No surprise they and I are big Beatles fans, they even copied two Beatles albums song for song.

Saw em live in 1990 or so, as close to an Aussie pub rock band as 'merica ever had

This one knocked me for a sixer; I used to love the Smithereens. Sixty two is way too young! :cry

Going to have to crank "Blow Up" in the Car this weekend.

RIP Pat ... my first ever album in CD format was Green Thoughts...

Big Smithereens fan here ... sad :(
