or someone new like Jake Lehmann?
:rolf: even though his dad is coach, unless he moves to NSW he won't go to South Africa

Loved Lyon holding onto the ball a la Crane a la Stuart McGill, Crane's bowling coach :)

A lot of top order batsmen get a rough deal, eg Alex Doolan, Joe Burns (were' they really not up to it?) and Khawaja has been mucked around more than most. I hope Renshaw comes back - he hit a bad form slump at just the wrong time.

Alex Carey 100 in 54 balls for Adelaide Strikers tonight, with 22 runs in one over. Great to watch.

Hmm, T20 hey? Well at least they've stopped picking players for the test team based on their BBL form .......

LOL yeah, I agree with ya - altho to play Devils' Advocate, they did find a good 'un in Davey Warner.

So apparently, If Scorchers get a home final, they're not allowed more than 40k in a 60k stadium, due to public transport to the venue during peak hour unlikely to cope well?
WTF? Isn't that just snowflake politics? Surely people sort themselves out?

I reckon it's just spin to excuse the poor crowd figues

only watched one game , no interest. Their IS an Adelaide based team, but the players are not all SA players so there is no connection. They wear blue not red, our state colour so I keep thinking it's NSW lol. One franchise filled with overpaid hasbeens versus another franchise of overpaid has beens and never was beens. So what if someone hits ten sixes in three overs? who won the comp last year? Players should've been playing shield cricket to prepare for the ashes and upcoming South African tour. How was handscombe gonna 'find form' when the only cricket is BBL? Australian cricket has sold out for quick cash, again.

At my last job in Sydney, I used to deal with a Financial Planning office in SA where I regularly swapped emails and phone calls with a young bloke who was playing 1st grade cricket and AFL. He was trying to break into the state cricket team, and from memory was also on the verge of signing with the GWS AFL team.

I left that job 3 years ago and forgot all about him .... until today! I tune in to watch Australia V England ODI at the GABBA and there he is, making his debut for Australia as wicket keeper. Well done Alex Carey!

On a merry-go-round, but not the one you're thinking of. He's got that gastro bug that all the players seem to be getting.

I have no clue. The scorchers have been selling out the Waca, but there's a big difference in size there.
And yes Mark, the bridge hasn't been completed yet, so that's one of the sticking points as the stadium is in a tight spot in terms of access and roads.

Eng leading 2-0 in the ODI series. Who'd've thunk it?

Their batting looks very good, and who the hell is this spinner they've bought it (Rashid)? He's great, much better than Moeen Ally.

I didn't get to see Alex Carey bat, but it sounds like he went well. I liked the look of him behind the stumps. I hope he goes on to have a great career. He may have to wait though. Realistically they'll probably bring Payne back once he's over his gastro.

only saw the game in bits whilst watching a Led Zepp cover band, but really, who cares about these games, totally meaningless. So what if England beat us 5-0, they still don't get the ashes lol. This format has lost any relevance it may once have had.
On another note, this Zepp band were good, lady singer did a great job, sounded like a cross between Robert Plant and Janis Joplin. Band were great. I need someone to break the bass players fingers though if anyone is up for some ultraviolence :) He used an EB? shorty though........come on man, Fender Jazz 3tsb tort pickguard........:)

Triple M explains what Wet Bulb Temperature means (Australian Open discussion)....
Wet bulb temperature

The only other way you might have heard this one is if you’re one of the 30 or 40 who watch the A-League. The wet bulb temperature is a reading they use to pretend that they might care about player safety enough to call off play when it’s ridiculously hot.
