Farewell Cruel World

Post by blizzard » 28 Nov 2008, 12:02

I leave tomorrow morning for the mines. I'm not sure if I will get much net access up there, so this could be it until February. Right now I should be packing but instead I'm on here :peep:

So if I don't appear again:

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL :drinkingbuddies:

 I thought I would use this smiley because I'm still yet to find a situation that requires it.

I hope you'll have access there or you'll be in for a boring time at night. Look at it this way, don't you guys make millions of dollars in the mines?? At least you'll have spare GAS money  (here's a good reason to use it)

Merry Christmas to you too, try not to get sacked for visiting OzBass on the company PC instead of working. :drinkingbuddies:

Are you taking your bass to the mines?

Thanks guys, finally packed... I know that I've would have missed a lot of things though. I'm taking my Washburn, B2.1, Octavius Squeezer all up to the mines. I'm hoping to exchange the Washburn with my Cort 5er that my uncle up there currently has.

What type of Cort? I've been checking out the B5 and A5 lately, pretty decent looking basses! I want to try one out but I have to find one in Sydney first. :/

JPS5, elrick licensed shape. I assembled it myself... somewhat poorly when I was about 15. However when my uncle took it he had his friend who runs a music shop redo my handy work. The couple A5s I've tried have been pretty good, the electronics are the same as those found in the higher end Ibbys, Skylines and MTD Z series.

Hello not so cruel world, for those who are interested I made it up to Biloela safely. Started work and so far its been fun and mainly involved me sitting in a car reading magazines. Orginization by Anglo has been pretty lack lustre and I'm still working on getting internet access at home (I'm at my uncles house now).

Bilo and Anglo ... are you at Callide or Moura? I worked at Moura for 3 years in the 80's.

I'm at Callide, I had the option I think of working at Dawson(Moura) too. Mark was Moura underground when you were there?

Yep. I was there for the second big bang (1986, 12 dead). Not a particularly happy memory, although apart from that I enjoyed my 3 years at Moura.

Haha, thanks guys. I'm actually in Brisbane for a few days I go back up on Christmas eve. I saw a blast the other day, it was very cool I've never felt the ground shake like that. Kerry, I might look you up sometime in the new year, I didn't realise how close Bilo was to Gladstone until I got up there.
