reminiscent of the 70s and Dougie Walters. Lillee and Thommo would bruise and batter them, then Dougie bowls his easy peasy medium pacers and he very often made the breakthrough.
Labaschange did the exact same thing last night. Good move by Paine, even if out of frustration.

I hadn't seen Marnus bowl before. He's actually pretty good. He hit the rough more often than he missed it, & the ball spun a lot. Handy bowler.

Maybe we can call him an all rounder and very that bee out of the selectors bonnets :)

back to square one. Warner is the batsman that needed to be dropped , right? I mean Travis Head made many more runs than Dave, contributed to many match saving partnerships, right?
So why is Head dropped, Warner stays in and MITCHELL MARSH is back in?????

typical, drop the South Aussie that performed for M Marsh.
unbelievable.
He must have nude pics of the selectors rolling in the hay or something.

I dunno why you all knock the Marsh selection. I always thought it was a great selection.
Gee he has bowled well after tea especially

4 wickets. Marsh has vindicated his selection i would think.
Warner has become a bunny. Needs a dropping.
Siddle why? Starc doesn't get a test? What did he do JL?

Isn't that typical Mitch Marsh though. Every year or 2 he does something OK and gets selected for the next year or 2 based on that one performance ?

Exactly. And how many other players could have done the same but were only given a fraction as many chances?

now Marsh knows he is set for another year, no need to bowl well or make runs til then

I don't understand in what world Siddle, after being found wanting earlier, comes in for Starc. Langer has to stop picking his mates and pick the right players.

Siddle was ordinary IMO last night.

If someone thought there was enough in that wicket to send them in why pick 2 just above medium pacers? Or conversely, if we have to pick these two for who knows what reason, why send them in and give up Lyon bowling last? I am at a loss to understand.

easy to understand. Paine is not a captain. Has NO idea. Just this test, and we are into the FIFTH of the series, Paine FINALLY realises that you stop the single to the better batsman on the FIFTH ball of the over. Cost us the last test probably.
Has NO idea of the review process. Has dropped or not gone for more balls than any Aussie keeper in my memory , in over 45 years of watching test cricket.

We should've picked 8 bowlers coz only Smith and Labaschange can bat .

How did Wade keep his spot over Head with a 27 batting average?

Travis Head shouldn't have been dropped.
