Except the Xmas is only 5mm. That's good, but not spectacular, and probably means the hugely strong magnetic field isn't being used in full. By default that to me makes the excess weight unnecessary.

Hey Guys,

Here's a MUCH more professional and in depth Review by Bass Gear Spring 2015 :D

http://epublish.panaprint.com/publicati ... 51644&p=44

Yes, these are Hi-end speakers- I feel you can't really compare them to anything else that's on the market, whilst yes I agree there is a lot of D-class amps now on the market, No Bass speaker manufacturer chooses to make a speaker like this.

Wayne tells me he will be performing and Exhibiting at the Melbourne Guitar Festival (AUG 8 - Caulfield Racecourse) do yourself a favour bring your own bass along and have a listen yourself In Person.

He also says Bass player magazine is currently reviewing them for July.

cheers
Joe

Yes I saw that, ta. But it did not have the Xmax - unless I'm missing the obvious. The 5mm excursion is the same as the (prior?) Lorantz model AC264V/WJ/16

Not a data sheet per se, but there's a section in the Wayne Jones website where Wayne mentions 5mm excursion and 13mm limit. So basically 5mm Xmas and 13mm xmech.

"Deck the halls": surely autocorrect, right? Funny nonetheless ... .

I had a very serious look into powered cabs last year. Unfortunately 30kg in a single lift exceeds my pain tolerance (old injuries). Still, I'd love to hear one - pls let us know of any PUBLIC gigs I can come & check one out.

I went to the launch at Sing Sing, I was blown away... I am anti D-Class and anti light-weight.
but these are on another level... I like old school.. I use old heavy amps with old heavy cabs... every week because I like it.. I have owned lightweight gear in the past and none of it works for me!
Yes they are expensive but there is no short cuts anywhere! They smoke any other rig if your into clean powerful punchy tone! do yourself a favour an check them out when you get a chance!

Hi Guys, Wayne Jones here.
Thank you for the great post on my new cab range. It makes me smile to know I can provide these for all of us.
It's nice to be here both as a bass player & designer. Drop by & say hi, contact me if you have any questions.
I also just got a rave review in July Bass Player Mag too.
End quote by Johnathon Herrera "Bottom line The best powered cabs I’ve heard"

As a bass player I'll be performing & doing workshops with Craig Newman at the Melb. Gtr Show Aug 9, I'll also have a stand there as an exhibitor.
Hope to see you.

Hi Guys,
Thought you might all like to know, Wayne has a Fodera Monarch 5 available for demonstration on his rigs, he is working closely with them as a place to see and purchase these basses in Australia. Feel free to drop him a line at wayne@wayne-jones.com or Facebook.
Cheers :D Joe
