neat... but the way I lose and destroy IEM's I'd be using a $15 - $20 set for everyday activity... although these might be just the ticker for use on stage.

Are the cheap CX300-II's on the bay real or dodgy? I fancy trying a pair but if they are fake then I won't bother.

They're fake. I found out the hard way. They sounded like crap.

I would highly recommend Westone UM2's. 300 bucks, and the bass response is amazing, not to mention the isolation. I don't have problems with the seal breaking when singing, they're hidden in your ears well, and the cables are detachable. Grab the Deluxe Case as well, great investment.

Braiden I mentioned earlier in the thread that my Westone um2s ($350 at the time, and purchased based on rave Internet reviews) are now buried in the garage somewhere because the $80 Sennheiser CX300s smash them in every department. The westones are more efficient, but they're voiced better for vocals than bass.

IEM's?

Pete, I think if I ever went down the IEM road for live work, I may just have to get me a set of CX300's

That's weird we have such differing opinions Pete, I love my UM2's. I think the bass response is great. Might have to try the Sennheisers. If you want to offload your UM2's let me know. :P

Picked up 2 sets of the UE200 for $25 delivered (arrived next day too). Great sounding, better than my Hifiman ones.

I had a quick look for them but couldn't find them. They're pretty well buried in amongst all the other junk in my garage. If they turn up down the track I'll let you know.
