Dark Glass or Tech 21 VT... either will nail it.

I think that you want a pedal with blend control built in if you don’t want an LS2. But I have to say that since I got one I think it’s an essential pedal to have if you’re into overdriven/distorted bass sounds. It immediately makes any distortion pedal sound a lot nicer with bass.

The darkglass pedals have blend. I’m pretty much sold on the b7k. It does everything I need it to. The vintage tubes was nice but I wouldn’t say it did the extreme distorted (metal) tone very well.

The big muff deluxe is also a good pedal but you may not like the fuzz tone which would count it out.

Why isn't Darkglass on your list?
Ive tried it and listened to a lot of demos etc and to my ears it sounds very mid scooped. The mid scoop works with a lot of styles but I really hate it for my style he he
The DGVU isn't scooped -- that's why it's good.

I don't think I've ever found "one" pedal to do it all. And when I did, I realised that unless I can recall presets, I'll forever be tweaking the bloody thing on the floor! (which isn't the greatest).

I also +1 the VMT. A lot of dirt pedals have been on and left my board, but the VMT has stayed.
I also have a Fairfield Barbershop for sale if you're chasing one...great gentle overdrive (think nicely driven tube amp)

The Alpha Omega doesn't get a lot of credit for it's low drive capabilities. If you leave the gain between 8.30 and 11 o'clock it's just a great tubey overdrive. But it'll also go from mild to wild and is pretty hectic at the top end of the gain dial.

I have the original version so the flexible 3 band EQ and blend dial make it the most usable overdrive I've come across.

ha ha
Well I've picked up a One Control Green Hooker. I'll see how that goes. Ive tried the Joyo Ultimate Drive and it worked really well. It's an OCD clone so no surprise there I guess however it was a little agressive. After a tonne of tweaking even the Beta Superdrive is sounding good but not quite as clear as I'd like

I should get a second pedal board and just adorn it with a tonne of overdrives ;-)

Im starting to think I should sell the Beta and look for a VMT...

The VMT has become my 'always on' pedal generally run in tandem with a VT Bass.
