Gallien also quoted as saying run gain/vol at 10/2 (o'clocks) for a clean tone and 2/10 for 'hit the rails' tone.
For all GK's amps generally?

I bet the manual was printed in China.

I doubt GK discovered anything new, I reckon it's all to generate debate about it, free publicity lol

My method with amps and mixing desks, with volume knob/fader at zero, adjust gain until it just clips every now and then. Adjust master volume to desired level.
Loud things: Markbass LittleMark 250, Hartke HA2500 amps, Hartke XL210 cabs
Pretty things: Fender MIA P, MIM P and J, SX J, Takamine ABG
Bands: Los Mescalitos , Distorted Tarts
