Exactly what I thought when I first saw the list - very old style amps - doesn't mean no good tho.
If they are rocket prices - all sweet.

Dunno where you're located, but this is a very good setup and really well priced:

Agreed! Buy this! You will 100% be able to sell it for what you paid if it's not your thing.

That was actually one of the choices I was genuinely considering, seems like a really solid head and its priced within my budget.
My second contender was a Hartke HA 5500 with some Melbourne manufactured 4x10

That's a complete Mesa rig for $800. I'd jump on it.

Couple people are also recommending me the ashdown rig which I was a bit iffy about as I've heard stuff about them not being too reliable. Wondering if anyone have info on them.

I had an Ashdown once. It was OK.

Ashdown makes great bass gear, especially the abm series ime.
Don’t believe the doubters.

The MAG line is the budget line. The ABM is the professional line of products. I used to own an MAG speaker and amp rig.

Had Ashdown ABM and it was rock solid, had Mesa and it was rock solid too, but I still lust after Mesa gear if that tells you anything.

I think with everyone here telling me how good Mesa is and general reviews praising the M-pulse, I think I might go down and check it out either this week or next.

Thank you, everyone, for your help.

I'd just jump on the mesa ASAP, should be sold already-its an absolute bargain. If it were any closer to me(im in vic) it woukd be gone. It's probably close to 40/50% cheaper than what you would normally expect to pay IMO

The only problem with the Mesa is it might be too much amp, not a bad problem to have.

Thank you so much, everyone, I ended up picking up the Mesa rig and so far, it's amazing. Still tinkering with the eq and whatnot, trying to get the perfect tone for me but it's sounding 100x better already.
