solid state guitar amp recommendations?

Post by Enadella » 10 Jan 2019, 19:52

I'm not looking for that tube sound, I'm looking for that ultra sparkling clean, loud, solid state sound. can anyone recommend an amp to me, either old or new https://waveadvice.com/tube-amp-heads-buyers-guide/ ?

thanks

firstly, Welcome to down under bassville :)

you mean guitar amp or bass amp?

I love my MarkBass Class D amp, just a Blackline 250 but it suits me fine for my pub gigs. I run it clean and flat and use pre amp pedals to dial in the grunt I need.
Loud things: Trace Elliot Elf and 10" cabs ,Markbass LittleMark 250, Hartke HA2500 amps, Hartke XL210 cabs
Pretty things: Fender MIA P, MIM P and J, Hofner B Bass, SX J, Takamine ABG
Bands: Los Mescalitos , Distorted Tarts

I got a Fender Rumble 500 V3 Bass Guitar Amplifier 2x10Inch for Christmas.

It is a keeper.

For loud and clean:
Roland JC120 if you can find one at the right price..
Fender Power Chorus
Fender Princeton Chorus (not so loud perhaps)
Peavey Ultra Chorus (I think it was called)
Peavey Bandit 112
Fender M80

These are all oldish amps but they will still be working if you can find them...
Endorser of Cave Passive Pedals (just so you know)
BMR: Blorf My Rig!

Oh! And I woz the chap behind Polymack Basses....

I have heard good things about the Lab Series L5. Never owned one though
Basses: Wasburn Status 4, Fretless 4 made from parts, Fretted through neck 5 made by me
Amp: Eminar bass 400 into home made cab with JBL 15"
