I have a couple of sets I don't urgently need (0.040 - .120) and I'd be happy to send you one for $40 plus shipping, or if you're down in Melbourne in the near future we can just do a hand-over.vin-tone wrote: ↑09 Oct 2018, 07:08I actually didn't mind the brightness of those.narcdor wrote: ↑08 Oct 2018, 16:55I suspect you'll be happy with pure blues, as drbass mentioned they are a great all rounder rounder (pun intended). Feel very nice to play as well, quite supple but not floppy.
Second to that I'd vote for pure nickels, Fender or otherwise, coming from flats. It's less of a jump. The SSII had stainless on it and was super bright for comparison. There's always the tone knob too!
So where's the best place to get get Pure Blues? Cant find them locally and the cheapest OS shipping I've found is $25US. Amazon was $47 just for the shipping![]()
I used to get mine from bassstringsonline (which have now closed down). Talkbass have an online shop selling strings, and interestingly enough I had an email earlier this week from Bestbassgear letting me know that they do strings now as well.
