NBD! What's in this tear-drop shaped case...

Post by specitim » 25 Sep 2018, 22:02

I took half a day off work and flew a 4 hour round trip to Ballina to pick this baby up.

What is in this case let me see...

My one bass forever! I never thought I'd actually play a Fodera let alone own one, but now I'm the proud dad of a beautiful Fodera Monarch Custom Deluxe 5. Ooo so pretty!

Look at that BEM...

I haven't seen a neck like this before...

Plays like butter, the preamp is the most complicated thing I've ever seen on a bass... Jumper settings??

In any case she's beautiful and she's mine. I'm not so pleased with the factory straplocks as they are different from all my other basses but for her I might just buy a dedicated strap.

Happy NBD!

She has the Duncans and yes it's a walnut top. Actually surprisingly light bass - I know you mentioned on your bassdex Alex that your monarch was heavy but I haven't had the same experience with this one - it's relatively light, I'd say lighter than my lakland 5594. Will have to put it on the scales though :)
