Anyone got the link for this video? Pretty sure I've seen him play a musicman in some of the Vulfpeck 'studio' recordings. And yeah, he does actually seem to favour the Jazz bass over the P bass...

He did some demos for them a couple of years back - maybe a 'J' version in the works but who knows for sure

I wonder if Sterling regrets not giving Flea a signature stingray? :hmm

He should. :eyebrow: Old scoundrel.

Prototype I guess. Looks like sterling body with no guard and one knob, volume one assumes, but definitely in the stingray camp for style and electronics. Not a surprise.

Well as a man who loves a good Stingray (I've owned 4 of them and still own 2), there's no way on earth I'd shell out for one with a single (presumably) volume pot. Maybe it's some sort of prototype or something?

Also maybe it's just me - I love Joe's playing but to me it sounds terrible in that Kings Theatre clip. Hopefully it's just because it's a quick rough concert recording.

I agree that clip sounds terrible, but I assume it's not his playing or the bass.

Not really seeing the point of this, I use a Sterling but just a volume pot? Joe is a great player but is this the EVH volume equals tone argument?

I guess we will see to see whether the pick up is tweaked.

Looks like a recreation of the cheap carlo robelli he uses in the early videos/songs with the natural finish and smaller body. Could be master volume, or master tone, or a four way preselected VULF favourite settings rotary switch, I suspect it's still active. Either way it looks like a bit of fun which fits well with the vulfpeck mindset.
