[NBD] MTD 535-21 Buckeye Madness

Post by swalexbass » 23 Aug 2018, 18:23

Hi Ozbass,

Just received my MTD 535-21, virtually brand new, as it was purchased brand new by the first owner in 2017 December and rarely used due to hand issues.

Was not the cheapest bass but had to jump on it, as it had the exact specs I wanted out of an MTD :)

Specifications:
Body: Ash
Top: Buckeye Burl
Neck: Wenge
Fretboard: Wenge
Electronics: Custom Bartolini
Other: Luminlay Side Dots (glow in the dark)

Thanks all! Tried her out in a studio jam last night. Everyone was shocked at how good the tone was. Sounds really good in recording too.

Looks great - how different does the Wenge/21 sound versus the ebony/24?

I’d say the 21 has more growl and punchier mids. The 24 more well rounded and fuller lows. 21 a bit more articulate on the highs.
