Is this a famous luthier? I have never heard of it, but it looks really sweet... and curiously just the day before I noticed a guy on youtube playing a guitar by this maker, I went back and checked as I noticed the logo and sure enough it was a Tyler guitar.

Yeah, these are extreeeeemely rare indeed. I've actually never seen one in person but the shape of the upper horn and the position of the dot markers in particular gave it away. I do recall Abe Laboriel used to play one.

Yes, there were only 50 basses made by James Tyler during the 90s and early 00s. But this one is the rarest of them all :) I will share a review when it arrives!

My first guitar was a Samick! I discovered after a neck repair they had covered up lovely figured timber on the headstock with mission brown paint at the factory :crazy:

Ha ha - I used a Samick Greg Bennet PJ at a gig that was loaned to me at short notice. I really didnt want to but I had no choice.
