I was asked to photograph my Gibsons for somewhere else. I thought I would post some pics here, in case anyone is interested.
I included the two Greco TBirds- honorary Gibsons.
A few closer shots of some recent Gibson basses- beautifully made and absolute rock machines.
These highlight to me how tragic it is that Gibson has virtually given away making basses and that, in any case, we don't have a functioning importer/ distributer.
I reckon you can keep LPB- Pelham Blue is stunning.

Happiness is .......a Telebass and 500W.

There are two LP Basses there. The Gold Top has the Oversized Body they did for a short time (to put the bass in proportion) and the red Double Cut (standard LP guitar body) They are both chambered so not particularly heavy like some older LPs and LP Basses. The Gold Top would be around 10 pounds and the DC around 9 and a half from memory

Very nice Russell. Since when is 10lbs not too heavy?
I want to see all the Fenders together next.
Please?

Makes my stated goal of three Thunderbirds seem positively modest. Well ... three Thunderbirds, a cheap Steinie rehearsal bass and a franken P.
Five ... no more than five.

Is that a Money Bass second from right, at the front? Very light?
The Ripper body looks huge, but is that a just the angle - is it one of the heavier ones?
I see..............basses!

Not a Money Bass, but essentially the same thing. Same construction. A Double Cut Les Paul- preceded the Money Basses, I think. Yes quite light for a Gibson. A really good bass. Nice and compact while being full scale. Hits like a freight train. I love the pickups in these LP Basses and the ES 335 Bass.
The Ripper is a bit of a rarity. It is an early bigger body version- only made in 74 I think. The camera makes it look bigger but it is bigger and rounder than later Rippers. This Ripper is actually quite light too, despite being a maple one! The body is very thin through at only 35mm. Superb neck on that bass.

Really regretting not picking up that $200 Steinie XT2 in the Allan's sale. I take my bass in its case + pedal board to practice. Walk to station, change at Central, down/up 4 flights of stairs, crammed on the light rail with everyone going to piss their money away at the casino, down more stairs. Something small I wouldn't worry about throwing in a gig bag would be handy. By the time my arms are back to their normal length it's time to go home...

Just the cost of buying all those guitar stands would equate to another bass...

Nice (and massive) collection! So how many are there in total?
James Tyler Abraham Laboriel 25/10 ♦ Fender Marcus Miller Jazz MIJ ♦ MTD 535-21 Buckeye Burl ♦ MTD 535-21 Norm Stockton Spec ♦ MTD 535-24 Sapphire Burst (Building) ♦ Alpher Cobia Elite-5 (Building)
Bergantino Forté + HDN212 + HDN112
