[Poll] Your Favourite Bass Brand?

Post by swalexbass » 11 Feb 2019, 16:16

Just throwing it out there for fun. What's your favourite brand, and why?

So many other brands but only 10 options available. So please specify any other brands

Other notable brands which I wanted to include in the list:
Dingwall, Lakland, Rickenbacker, G&L, Schecter, Spector, Sire, Roscoe, Modulus

My go to basses are both local luthier built. One is Marilyn by David Searl and the other is SneakyJaks fretless. I’ve loved owning a Rob Allen Mouse and I don’t believe I’ll part with my Dingwall or my Maillioux P bass (you’ve got to own a P for the studio) but Marilyn gets all the play time and when I can get rid of the ringing in my ears I’ll get back into fretless. It’s just too hard right now.

My favourite bass is definitely my Mailloux but I voted Yammy as it's my second favourite bass I own and I am yet to play a bad Yammy at any price.

Even though I'll never be able to afford one, I voted Fodera. Their basses are incredibly well made and they really are the Stradivarius of the bass world IMO.......as well as David Searles basses :)
IB-Classic#001, Xotic XJ-1T 5,Yamaha BB1024X
Glockenklang Blue Soul, Glockenklang Double, TecAmp Puma 112 Combo

This is a super hard thing for me to quantify because most of the interesting, clever stuff I see isn't A; isolated to one brand, B; being done by the mainstream brands (Ibanez being the exception). My current faves are people like; Atlansia, Dingwall, Hilton, Christopher and Schorr. Course I know I'm a weirdo.

P.s. might we say all the clones and super-clones are really just Fenders anyway?

Just talking brands, Mesa Boogie does it for me. High quality, innovative company that packs a lot into a little.
