Post by bass-in-yoface » 11 Feb 2019, 16:43

Hi ozbassers,

I'm looking for a good quality cable that has 2 right angle connectors.
Anyone know where or how (and how much)?

many thanks.

Bass Centre cables, made by them from quality cable and connectors. They default to one straight one right angle but you can ask for whatever you like. They’re also guaranteed for life so when you see how much they are factor that in. I’ve had them for about 5 years not a single issue.

Altronics. 2 Neutrik 90° TS connectors, 6m of Canare cable, and solder them together. Never let you down.

if you step on your cable with a right angle plug , all the strain is on the solder points resulting in a break in connectivity.
With a straight plug, looped through the strap, the strain is taken up at the loop contact point then horizontally onto the straight plug, bending it sideways, but not straining the solder joints. just my 2c worth.

I'm with Steve, make your own exactly as you want it. $80 for a cable is stupid.

Sure, you can make your own the same with $45 of parts and save $30 but may not have the skills or equipment. I think it’s worth learning basic electronics to maintain your own gear sure, some people won’t have the inclination.

If these leads ever fail I’ll just take them back to be repaired for free so I’ll never know the joys of making my own leads.

I'm waiting for some genius to make 1/4" plugs the same as Speakons with screw terminals and no soldering.

I must be stepping on my right angled cable all wrong. Hundreds of gigs, many performed in workboots or hiking boots and the cable is ..... dammit, that's done it now I'm due for a failure this weekend

Great stuff.
Thanks guys.
Lots of options.
I'm not much of a solderer so I'm keen to buy pre-made.
Cheers.

I really like these:

Mine are constantly in use, in and out of gig bags, and I've never had a problem. You can choose the length as well.
