FS: Ampeg B200R

Post by IamNotYou » 13 Mar 2018, 21:10

Hi all,

I bought this Ampeg B200R from oz bass member, Shappo, 2 or 3 years ago and it was meant to be a fixer up'er. Never got to fixing it up and I think it's a waste sitting around in my living room looking pretty, plus the fact that I don't gig anymore or jam and I'm tight for space.

The amps works but there's like a him when the volume is turned up. To quote Shappo, "You can also take out the chassis and just use it as a speaker cab. The speaker cab sounds fantastic and has a very similar sound to those ported PF 115 cabs. Would be pretty light too considering the chassis would be out."

I'm looking to sell it for what I bought it for, which is $250. I wouldn't mind trading for a combo with 10" speakers. I live in an apartment block so space is quite tight.

Thanks for listening! Look forward to your offers.

Where are you located? If it's not near me, are you willing to ship?

@hamo Sorry, I'll post some photos when I get home tonight.

@pipsqeek I'm based in Hornsby, NSW. I'm not too confident in shipping it and it'll unfortunately have to be at the buyers expense. I'd much rather a pick up.

Welcome back pipsqueak. Haven't seen you on OBF for a while.
PS. Great FB photos.

PS. I had the little brother, a B100R a while back. Great amps, Vulfpeck bassist uses one.

Thanks Bassline. Yeah, not too much time to spend on forums between gigs, touring and amp repairs. I just restored a 75' Bassman 50 and am using it at gigs. Not to hijack the thread, maybe I should make my own thread about it.

However, I'm keen to grab this little amp and repair it. If I like it, I'll keep it. If not, I'll sell it fixed. Full disclosure there.

Please do. We all LOVE restoration threads. :D

I've had a few rescue projects myself. I've had more wins than losses. I'm an ex-guitar tech, definitely not an amp tech.
