FS/FT: Markbass CL108 8x10” cabinet

Post by brentonbassist » 30 Jan 2018, 07:14

Hi all!

I’ve had this up for sale before, but was probably asking too much so it went nowhere and I then pulled the sale. I really love this cab, but it’s a bit too mid focused for my new Mesa Prodigy head, and I would like something smaller, so it’s back on the chopping block.

This time I’m happy to let it go for $700+postage (I’m on the Gold Coast, and from memory it cost me about $80 to have it sent here from Melbourne when I bought it from Bass Centre for $1200 secondhand about 4.5 years ago).

This is a dual sealed 4x10” cab, so you can run it as 2 8 ohm 4x10” cabs, or 1 4 ohm 8x10”. Has a tweeter defeat switch. This thing nails that tight, punchy tone that sealed big cabs are so good at. With the neos it has a very focused upper mid range too.

The overall condition is fair, due to a bunch of Tolex tears that were there before I took ownership of it. It’s in perfect working condition.

Markbass’ specs are:
SPEAKER SIZE
8x10"
TWEETER
Defeatable 1" compression driver with custom horn
POWER HANDLING (AES STANDARD)
1200W RMS
CROSSOVER FREQUENCY
3.5 kHz
FREQUENCY RESPONSE
54 Hz to 20 kHz (to 6 kHz with horn "off")
SENSITIVITY
103 dB SPL
IMPEDANCE
4 ohms mono / 2 x 8 ohms (stereo)
REFLEX
None
WEIGHT
89.95 lbs. / 40,8 kg
WIDTH
23.03" / 58.5 cm
HEIGHT
45.63" / 115.9 cm
DEPTH
18.78" / 47.7 cm

For trades, I’d be very keen on a Bergantino HD410, HDN212 and possibly CN212. Also possibly a Mesa Powerhouse 2x12” or 4x10”, or the new Darkglass DG410c.

Hi Andrew,

Yep, absolutely 600W per side at 8ohms. And indeed you can use 2 amps with it, which was always my intention (one head clean, one dirty).

If you want to flick me a PM with your postcode I’ll get back to you with a shipping quote when I can (about to take off for work).
