Warwick 2009 Special Edition Corvette Fretless

Post by basshack » 17 Sep 2018, 16:00

More stuff on the block. I just don't play this anymore and have a much better fretless in the herd that gets the work.

4 string Corvette Standard Special Edition build in 2009. It's 025 of 027 if that floats your boat. There isn't mark on the paint anywhere but there is a light grooving on the fretboard where the rounds I use have marked it, but it is very light and I could buff these out easily if it bothers you. It's strung with Sadowsky nickels which are my go to string.

4.3kg on the bathroom scales, 19mm string spacing and fully passive with original MEC pups. I think that covers everything that is usually asked.

I'm asking $1400 ONO and will have a serviceable Warwick bag here for it somewhere here too. Happy to package up and ship at the buyers expense or deliver/pickup locally. I'm in Bundoora Vic.

Well it could be a 5 but the string spacing would be unorthodox but not impossible.

Same here; I've got a 4 string Warwick $$ Fretless Vette, & love it; a 5'er is definitely on the bucket list.

Very rare to find a lined ebony fretboard on a Warwick. And this particular ebony fretboard is nice and thick. This is one heck of a solid bass :yep

If it were an $$, I'd be there to pick it up tomorrow. But it's really nice. For those thinking of it, the Corvette is a nicely balanced bass, unlike my fretless Thumb which has a slight neck dive.

Totally agree. The corvette is the most comfortable Warwick shape to play IMO. :yep

Thanks guys and I think you’re right. I’ve owned Streamers, had a Thumb for a while, borrowed a Dolphin for a week and only really jelled with a Fortress in Warwick’s range so far, but I’d like to try an Infinity one day.

Although both of my basses are active, I find myself looking for money to see if I can afford this.........am I being true to myself doing this?
Only time will tell

Not trying to do myself out of a sale but doesn't the Warwick Thumb fretless float your boat right now?

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, the thumb is awesome, but the neck dive annoys me sometimes and for comfort I'll change to the corvette. Both are set up well and really nice to play, but the corvette with the double humbuckers can be a bit over-powering in a small room, where the thumb gets a nice growl to it. BTW, the thumb has a lined ebony fretboard too. It was converted before I got it, rather badly. The neck needed a bit of work when I got it.
