FS: Yamaha RBX 5 string $290 SOLD PENDING

Post by Ronanbass » 14 Oct 2017, 17:16

For sale is my (very green) Yamaha RBX 5 string. I bought from BenC years ago and I played the crap out of it for many of those years, but some time ago developed an allergy to B strings. Really versatile bass, and apart from some finish wearing off the bridge and knobs it's in excellent condition. Great bass for a beginner or someone wanting to make a foray into 5 string world

The only defect is that I lost the strap with the strap locks in it, but the strap pins are still in the bass, so I've taken that into account with the pricing, so whoever purchases it can fix it with standard pins or get more locks as they see fit.

Asking $290, and will throw in an also well used soft case.

Pickup in Ivanhoe.

Wow I remember the Yamaha retro ads featuring this bass in Bass Player magazine from the 90s!

If this is the RBX 765a then I used to own one in a teal / dark aqua finish. My brother still has one of these in a red finish. These are a sleeper bass. I remember many many years ago in a upgrade quest, A/B’ing mine at Bass Centre against Musicman’s, Warwick’s, Lakland’s, + more and being very impressed at how well it held up (tonewise) against the other basses. This is a great buy for a cheap 5 string with a nice active preamp and decent tone. Cheers
