FS: SANDBERG CALIFORNIA VM4

Post by CosmoRhythmatic » 23 Mar 2019, 07:58

Here's my Sandberg California VM4 bass.

I'm the second owner, but as with the previous owner, it's had very little use. After a couple of weeks of my getting it, a 1975 AVRI Jazz bass came my way and because of it's more curved radius, I bonded quite substantially better with it. The only reason I'm selling it is because I find the 7.25" to 10" radius much more to my liking.
It is revised body shape with P/MM pickups, punchy and crisp sound.

Selling on ozbassforum for $1800.

I'd also consider P bass variants of similar or higher value for trade.
Bass is located in Seabrook, Victoria. It can be shipped.

Many thanks for looking!

My scale shows 3.8kg. That's without the strings :D

Thanks!

Nah, I saw the original receipt, I might still have it... They decided to treat it like a stand out feature :D I always thought it was supposed to be that way though. On a practical side, I only noticed it when switching the strings and there was a piece of G missing! :)

Look's like the upside down headstock option rather than a lefty neck ?

Sandberg did make a few reversed headstock ones. I've seen a few 48's floating around as well as a couple (at least) VM4's. Why? Apparently, it's because they wanted it that way  :)

Yep - I reckon I played this one (or one like it) in the bass centre a few years ago. Reverse headstock is a factory option.

Sandbergs can be whatever you’re willing to pay for, there’s heaps of options that aren’t on the website 😎

But damn I’ve seen this pop up a few times and I love that reverse headstock and orange

It may well have been this same one! It was originally purchased in February 2017 from Bass Centre.

Same here! If it was a bit curvier radius, I'd be keeping it for sure. I posted it elsewhere, then took it off, decided I'll keep it, but after a couple of practice sessions I just leave it alone again. It needs to be played, but also, something else is poking my eye, so... :D
