Congrats on the CV Christine.

You know the deal :useless:

I dropped in today and played a couple of the fortress basses. That 2014 Limited edition with the Nordstrand fat stacks is a beauty. It feels and sound amazing. Highly tempted as the shape is more comfortable to me than the streamer. Yes the upper horn is a bit odd but without a doubt that is one amazing bass at a very reasonable price :yep

Oh, and I did buy something with 4 strings. Pic coming soon.

Well done to both of you. I stayed clear of the basses today but the W shaped 30th Anniversary Bass would of been nice on the wall with its brothers. For $200 it would of have been a silly purchase but for some reason it seemed like too good a deal. I did pick up a multiple guitar stand, a packet of Fodera strings and a SD Antiquity P bass set so not a waste of time given the unloaded 610 box was what I went in for. Sharon almost scored an electric cello for Xmas but I was under instructions to be a good boy so went home to ask her and she declined but I got brownie points for thinking of her.

Oh Blaine, I was expected more toys than that!! Although, those brownie points will come in very handy for your next "investment". ;)

Congrat's to those who scored new toys!
I would have loved to get there, but too far. If I had any play money I would have grabbed the LE Thumb 5 Flamin' Blonde for sure... Cool looking Bass, and I'd love to get my hands on a Thumb.... One day!
The Neo 8x10 would be a cool thing to stand in front of too!... again... One day! :yep

Let's see some pic's peeps! :)

Ok, so this is what I would like to have bought......still thinking about it. The birdseye maple board on a wenge neck is just sublime, and those pickups sound incredible :hmm

BUT....this is what I did buy  For my daughter.....well, I didn't lie...it is a 4. Nice Uke.

I got there on the Saturday at 10. It took about an hour and fifteen to get through the door, by which time a lot of goodies had been seen walking out the door. Most people were coming out the door with cases and multiracks. A few congas walked out the door with the $10 price sticker still attached.

When I finally got in it was great. Well set out, plenty of room and the staff were all great. Good stuff Dominant, well done. The cases were dwindling fast. I scored an acoustic guitar case for $5. Some of the tolex had pealed back and there was some bubbling. I bought it for a mate. Merry Christmas bud. I also scored a generic bass case for $20. I didn't bother looking too hard at the wall of basses for sale. Great bargains but not for me. Not the money or time. Alien basses were going for $400. I was so tempted. I probably should have picked one up. The kala ukes also peeked my interest, a fretless for $300 and a fretted for $400. Alas priorities. I'm gassing for a B amp so I saved my dollars on what I wanted and spent it on what I needed. Happy day.
