Fully Custom Instrument
A fully custom instrument is essentially a bass I'll have to spend a good amount of time designing in CAD software and where I'll have to create new templates for building. These usually involve quite a bit of design time spent behind the computer. These designs are charged as per the DCO, DCS, DCW basses with a design surcharge of $350

Build time:
Currently set between 6 to 9 months depending on workload.

Payments:
50% is required on ordering, the second half is required before the bass ships out.

Looking at the Jazz and P-Bass prices, they are EXCELLENT value......

Compare them to a quality product such as a Sadowsky or Lakland or even Fender, these are excellent basses for the money.......IMO

Thanks guys, it was a bit the idea to keep the prices close to locally sold US Fenders. It's pretty much a question of what you prefer, the name Fender on your headstock or a handmade bass to your specs for the same price. I though this might help some people to be pushed over to the darkside of custom instruments. ;)

so its one of your basses or a fender hey phil ? there is no surcharge to write fender on the headstock ? haha
is it alot more expensive to go from 5 to 6 string ? or just another little jump like it was from 4 to 5.
as I'm looking for a new 6er and your j prices aren't to far out of reach for me .. well if I sell everything I own hehe
sorry should have pm'd that but then I wouldn't have gotten to make my bad fender joke !!!

plus you seem to be getting alot of orders for 6ers  what do we do with all those strings ?
maton jb4 godin bg5 a double bass and a yammy trb6p

Base price would be $2225 for a j or p. The only issue would be to find suitable pickups for it. It could stay at base price or may go up a bit depending on what we'd find.

Still better than something like an MTD - I think Bass People quoted 18 months for a custom build.

I do swear that one day I will own a custom Mailloux. By the looks of that, probably a custom Jazz or P might be on the cards, can't really go wrong with keeping one of them in reserve, so many tones!

Eh, no new basses for me for a while though I don't think :) Will happily watch what other people end up ordering

what are the chances of getting a bit of a photo gallery thread of all your finished basses for us all to drool over. Just a handful of pics of each bass and maybe the specs if you can be bothered and even price each cost if thats alowed. Im still hanging to get one my self but have loans to get rid of first. damm tafe/GAS/ and constantly spending more then i earn.
