I have been to pretty much every music shop in Sydney over the last 3 years and I can honestly say that George and Bass Gear Direct is the best place to deal with from a knowledge, customer service, gear quality and value POV.

:thumbup:

Purchased from George:
Dingwall Z2;
Genzler Magellan 800 amp and 2 BA12-3 cabs (there's a little more behind that but that'll do);
a number of Glockenklang 3-band preamps.

100% satisfaction rating. Have even been "accused" of advertising for him - well, just communicating my experience. Was lucky enough to meet him a couple of years ago after the Sydney GTG.

Michael

George is awesome, I visited him on the way down from Brisbane to Canberra early on in the year and I could have spent hours with him if the wife was not in the car!

Used them at a rehearsal last night and the singer said he loved how 'punchy' the sound was (HD112s for those wondering).

Never met George face to face but have dealt with him over the phone and bought a couple of things - couldn't speak highly enough of his customer service and willingness to go above and beyond for me. Thanks George.

I have had nothing but great dealings with George. l bought a Roxy bass from him and still buy all my strings from him. Auspost once lost a set of strings, George sent me the a replacement set, the original set turned up 4 weeks later (so much for express post).

Last week I spent two hours testing the following:

Berg HDN210
Berg Reference 210
Genzler 12-3 Array
Berg HDN112
Berg Reference 112
Glockengang 112

Over that entire 2 hour period George shifted cabs around so I could test 3 at a time, swapped the speaker cable between cabs so I could hear the differences between them all and also gave his input into what he was hearing from further away.

I left with a Berg Reference 210 cab. As George described it the cab is very even across the frequency range, the lows are present but nice and tight and the top end isn't as present as on the HDN cab.

Had I not had access to all that testing I would likely have taken a chance on an HDN cab.

Very happy with my purchase and all possible because of George's great service! :thumbup:

Hey Matt, got to admit it was a great little test session we did there listening to all those awesome cabs, and I got a very good overdue gym session at the same time. :D
