I don't know any 9-year-olds, who are the real experts in this field, so I'm casting about for direction. Have you had experience with selling original material online?
What we want is for people to be able to order a copy of our vinyl album and at the same time receive a code to download the tracks. Receiving money via PayPal seems straightforward enough. But how to do the online download? What format and how do we protect our IP (or at least not offer it up on a plate).
I suppose I could just throw money at a teenager with a multi-national company, specialising in online music purchases, but I get the feeling that the technology is easier and more accessible than one might initially think.

Most local acts I purchase vinyl and download from is through bandcamp. I’ve never used it myself to sell physical copies.

I think it goes like this
ONE person downloads the songs
the rest get it for free off of YouTube
I believe the EU is bringing in legislation to make YouTube pay the copyright holder for any music distributed ie pirated via its service.
Are you getting the vinyls produced locally? Where from?

Isn’t it just Zenith locally in Brunswick Melbourne? Or small run hand cut places like Brendan at Cut & Groove Records at Laneway? Sorry for the sidetrack.

Bandcamp is definitely the way to go! Everyone who buys a physical copy gets the digital download instantly. Plus you get to set your price, build a mailing list, receive fast and fair payment and generally connect with your fans in a way no other platform allows.
