I got to jam with Tom Kennedy! Warning - Fodera action!

Post by stonecoldbass » 19 Aug 2018, 18:05

Hey folks!
A few months back when Mike Stern was in town I managed to connect with Tom Kennedy and line up a Player Profile interview for the podcast/youtube series I publish. Before we got down to the chit chat we had a little jam over a jazz blues and Tom really let rip on that beautiful Fodera of his. Stay tuned for the full interview coming soon!

That's fantastic Craig. Wonderful playing by both of you and two quite different sounds from the F bass and the Fodera. You showed no sign of nerves too.......I'd be fumbling all over the place. Well done

Oh I was nervous as heck! But in these situations you just gotta try and focus on good time and just do what you can do, no good trying to compete with a master!
Thanks!

Nice playing, by both of you! Is it strange I liked the lower register on the Fodera but the upper was kinda breathy or feathery? Meanwhile the F was sounding nice all over!

Thanks mate! Yeah I've noticed a few of these 'profile' guys have a unique tonal footprint. The F Bass is such a good all rounder!
