I think you should ask both factories if they give you a free bass with the tour..

She’s more a Sandberg roadworn fan ;)
Obviously she's a woman of impeccable taste then. Have fun!

Great tour of the Warwick factory yesterday, guided by none other than the boss’s son.
Took plenty of pics (proper report to follow once I am back home) and now have a much better understanding of how this particular company approaches building their instruments.

Anyway, thought I give you a little teaser. Just finished breakfast, now off to Sandberg. Can’t wait.

Regards,
Michael

... and Sandberg was just as interesting yet completely (completely) different. Didn’t take as many photos but have an answer for Pete: pickup position for each model is determined empirically by trial and error: it is changed until there’s a good lock-in with the bass drum. How? I od have a pic for that.

Another couple of hours in Dubai, back in MEL tomorrow morning ~6:30.

There's a 6:30 in the morning now?

I played Heath's Sandberg, with a MM style pickup (+ a J) a couple of weeks ago. The MM sounds nothing like a Stingray, but did sound great with the J. It's pretty much a Jazz bass, with a fatter sounding bridge pickup.
