Bass strings online is now Fret Nation

Post by narcdor » 10 Feb 2019, 12:57

Just received an email. Still getting stock up there but it’s online, bigger range too I think with basses for sale but I could be wrong I only looked at strings.

Anyone who has outstanding orders from BSO may want to contact them.

I must say, I've used Jason in the past, but after the great advice and super fast free postage from the Bass Centre I'd rather support them. the free postage makes up for the higher price, usually.

Thanks for the warning. My experience with BSO was terrible. And anyway I'm with Bazz and I'd rather support someone local.

Thanks for warning me off. Sounds like he lost enough customers that he needed to rebrand.

I think there was more to it than that. Firesaling your old stock and disappearing for months wouldn't normally be necessary for a rebrand. Sounds more like disentangling some business thing.

My experience with him was all good but haven't bought from him in 5 years.

I'm not exactly the greatest string customer on the planet, and I don't think anyone would ever miss my "extensive" business. I rarely buy strings (they just last for me). But when I do buy them, I use Bass Centre or Best Bass Gear in USA, or for any specialty / hard-to-find strings, I go with Juststrings.com ... I'll bet it's been at least 3-5 years since I last made a string purchase of any kind.

I found he was better for some unusual brands and coverage. I tend to go bbg or stringsandbeyond though, both of whom are great.

I've had good experience with Jason but for my last batch purchase went with BBG who had in stock what I wanted (DR PureBlues in my preferred gauge) at a good price AND free shipping.
Shipping pretty much negotiates the lower overseas price (exchange rate doesn't help) but no-one stocks "my" strings so BBG worked out nicely.
