That looks pretty cool.

I know it's best to contact these folks directly (David, is it? Is he on the forum?) but do you think there's scope to go outside the "P"aradigm (I hope you like this :-)!)? There's obviously time constraints ...

Anyway, I will look into this for next year.

Hi All,
For those wanting to know more, or just want to enroll into one of our course for next year I'm holding an enrollment and information session at the Heidelberg NMIT/Melbourne Polytechnic campus on Thursday evening 11th of December 2014 from 4:30 -7:00 pm (Corner of Waterdale and Bell Street in Heidelberg). It will be in building ' A' room HA124. I'll have a few samples of instruments that I've built during class times as 'demo's' for people to play and am happy to discuss ideas you have for your build. I can be contacted directly about this on 0438831363.

Cheers, David.

So, some more pics, feels like the neck is coming together. Frets are in, back of the neck is in a rough shape ready for the finishing touches.

Carving

The front. Cleaned up the end of the fretboard at the headstock end, lots of file and sandpaper work. Front inlays of black mother of pearl in.

Some really good stuff happening here. Also great to see others joining and having a go. Bass building is a lot of fun. :)

If nothing else it gives me an enormous amount of respect for the time and skill taken to build instruments. Looking forward to more work on it tonight as always!

Only just saw this post, David.

I'll be there, our guitarist had to cancel our Thursday night gig (hand surgery not healing quite as quickly as he expected). I have quite a few ideas :). See you then.

Hi all,
All of Nick's parts are done! We'll be setting a day in mid Jan. to do the fret dressing and assemble the bass. Depending on the speed at which Nick works, he'll need between 6-10 hours from here before he floats out the door with the instrument finished (I really like that bit!), it's a very rewarding thing.

Cheers, David.

Thank you for the update, David,

I hoped that Nick would chime in as well with some pre-final impressions.

Do you have any home work for me? I'm rearing to go!

Michael
