Re: His Master's Voice

But I was watching videos the other day of old people trying to use the "ok Google" function, and my phone never responded to it?

They do custom straps. I had two made up to my specifications years ago.

Re: Amp facing forward or rear-ward...?

You wouldn't get far telling Billy Joel or Elton John to do that. This is also a case of sound man competence. Those who know what they're doing will high pass keys around 100Hz. For that matter they'll high pass the bass between 60 and 80Hz, to compensate for the totally different response of PA s...

European cars - never again! This particular brand anyway, starting with B and ending in MW...... One small problem and a sensor picks up something from another sensor which is sniffing another sensor which activates an engine immobiliser, even if the problem is minor. To be fair it probably works n...

Re: Pedalboard for amp-less gigs... GO!

A must for me whenever I use In-Ears is a separate eq. You'll want to be able to eq your instrument in your ears without it affecting the sound going out front. Get that right and the sky is the limit!

Order a pizza to be delivered? If they knock in time they're probably not a drummer.
What if the knocking speeds up, slows down, and he doesn't know when to come in?

Re: Opting out of MyHealthRecord scheme by 15th October

One of my kids was born with a truckload of health issues. Her medical file is literally as thick as the yellow pages. During her first year of life she had more than twenty different specialists . Taking her to a regular GP is like turning up to a Toyota dealership with a vintage Ferrari. The bloo...

Re: Opting out of MyHealthRecord scheme by 15th October

See, that's not how universal health insurance needs to work. The point is not to scoop out just the healthy people and leave everyone else to rot in the gutter, as per the US. Actually that's exactly the premise under which the insurance industry works, and not just health insurance. Those who don...

Re: Opting out of MyHealthRecord scheme by 15th October

Crikey there's a lot of bass players with a lot of things to hide. There's nothing incriminating in my health records. And quite frankly, I was amazed that my GP had absolutely no idea I'd had cancer, surgery, then chemo last year all because I just happened to go to a different (closer) GP on the ...

Re: Political Affiliation - which side are you on?

The problem with a question like this one is that Abbott and co are so far to the right, the centre has shifted. You can't be a centrist at the moment without being constantly being accused of being a lefty.

Re: Prime minister

Just to emphasise just how much the Libs misjudged it, I heard Concetta Hyphen-WhatsHerName on the radio today saying words to the effect of "we expect the usual honeymoon period that usually occurs for a new Prime Minister, so let's wait a little while before making any judgements of Scott Morrison...

Re: Prime minister

"Mr Dutton has denied any wrongdoing." And there it is, the problem as I see it., He denies any wrong doing because that backwards, twisted brain of his can't compute what is obvious to everyone else. I never thought I'd see the day such mentally unwell people ran the country, but they now run the w...

Re: Help needed with the science of heat.

Ok so after all that, I was worried about nothing. My bike has an aftermarket exhaust which only has one pipe instead of the standard 2. As a result, there's a massive gap between the exhaust and the saddle bag. There a no way in the world I'm burning a hole. Here's a pic... https://i.imgur.com/mCZE...
