Re: Who's got my bass?

And you can all stop looking, I've found it in the least expected place. I'm 100% sure I checked it more than once but this morning, looking out the U-Bass for Ben, there it was in it's case in the music room cupboard. Now maybe I am a man and need my mother to look for things but I'll swear it was...

Re: Build #015 - Polaris Gumdrop 5 Fretless

Waiting for epoxy to cure I thought "let's have a little fun", got out the router, rasps and files and dug into this one. Re: Build #019 - Polaris Special Q Shortscale TP Signature

Here you can see what I mean with "penetrating and filling" wrt the low viscosity epoxy: the dark spots are where exactly that happened. https://www.flickr.com/photos/94660385@N02/29745883637/in/dateposted-public/ Everything looks good, have all the timber pieces in place (hence the weird-looking ac...

Re: Slowlearner's rolling cavalcade of luthiery horrors

$20 for two neck blanks.

I, too, have many things on the go (another one to be revealed soon) but thought splitting them up makes it easier to follow. Anyway, following with interest, Pete, and good to see you back "reporting" after your longish absence.

Re: Build #019 - Polaris Special Q Shortscale TP Signature

Thanks, folks. I do, Ivan, but not exclusively. To join the bookmatched tops I used polyurethane glue - one component, expands, and easy to scrape/sand. Since there is virtually no stress on that joint I am comfortable with that. To glue the two body halves it was tried-and-true Titebond simply for ...

The first of many glue-ups: https://www.flickr.com/photos/94660385@N02/42863422800/in/dateposted-public/ Maple burl top onto walnut body on the left, 3-piece neck (centre purple heart, and maple). Spent a lot of time in the shop today prepping timber and still not quite done yet. Still need more map...

Maybe it's not a dog?

Some look to be human sized yes, but those are easy to spot and avoid. Does seem like a thrilling hobby.

Oh and I'll just leave this here
nooooooo - very inconsiderate, Nick!!

Re: Rant Thread !

Let's get this thread back on track. Dog owners who do not pick up after them. It's everywhere. Currently averaging one shoe cleaning per fortnight even being careful and constantly watching my feet when I walk on the grass near my place. Total ass hats. Grrrr! The local council even increased the ...

Re: FS: Dingwall NG2 5 String w/ Hardcase

Really awesome basses, these. Curious which year/pickups it has. If it's a '17 or '18 model with rounded pickups and you can confirm it is routed for 3 pickups, basscentre has upgrade kits available for folks interested in a 3X. I'm sure one could fit 4 pickups in there, Bruce ;) . OK, enough threa...
