Re: Amp facing forward or rear-ward...?

So, from a marketing perspective, if you can't say its 'sealed...immediate...accurate', then lets go for '3D' ....ie, it's all over the place :D

Re: Amp facing forward or rear-ward...?

Maybe a harder sound to tame as you now have 3 sources of different phased sound - monitor front, monitor rear and FoH. You've gotta want the FoH to be loud enough for the stage monitor not to affect the audience experience. But I notice it is marketed for 'tighter' stages - which may not have FoH f...

Re: Advice on Jazz bass series/parallel assembly

Try taping a strip of mild steel (at least 1mm thick) to the back of the pickup - is the fastest reversible way to see what your pickup sounds like with more mid.
I have a Greco HiPower-style pup with that on semi-permanently - gives it just enough extra bite.

Re: Amp facing forward or rear-ward...?

what's heard out front is what's through the PA Always great to see your replies! :) Nice article - I think the cancellations in the comb effect is what I was trying to express - I can see that above the very low you don't get 'alleys' of cancellation, but maybe a difference between left and right ...

Amp facing forward or rear-ward...?

This might've been commented on in passing before. I saw a school band project presentation on the weekend, and the overall volumes were certainly not typical gig volumes, but near the stage was starting to get uncomfortable (for me) - over 90dB according to my android app. The bass player was all o...

Re: Backbeat strap box

I had a PC games version of this years ago - the high mass transducer - think moving lump of metal instead of a speaker cone - is now screwed to my timber floor under the TV stand for added rumble on movies!

Re: Prime minister

increase is due to improved educator awareness. And DSM also at play. Thanks for your comments. My 2b) should've been better expressed - it covers those who can be interpreted to show trans tendencies, but naturally resolve over time to disappear in adulthood. So 'looking for' would find those - an...

Re: Prime minister

Here is a referral confirming 200% increase over 3 years was originally mentioned: https://www.2gb.com/this-is-madness-laughable-gender-politics-hits-our-schools/ Others along that line: “The Royal Children's Hospital has received more than 230 patient referrals this year (2017), and more than 700 s...

Re: Prime minister

There’s your problem
I have read the SBS article, and it does not answer nor address my questioning.
This is a logic exercise, and in the absence of any other significant factor, the increase is either true or not - so I ask, which is it?

Re: Prime minister

At risk of opening a hornets nest.....but it is what the PM said: "We do not need ‘gender whisperers’ in our schools. Let kids be kids." -in regard to a Daily Telegraph article behind a paywall, but known to be claiming 200%+ increase in the incidence of 'trans' kids - presumably largely in Vic., as...

Re: Stripped nut on truss rod

The Frost 5-piece extractor set gives you a few sizes to make sure you get a snug fit. I'd squirt/dribble a bit of silicone spray around the outside edge of the nut-wood area, and maybe a tiny drip of WD40 in the centre, if it goes to the actual rod-nut interface. The danger is that the action of th...

Re: Political Affiliation - which side are you on?

I can't help thinking there is something missing here - as I alluded to before, putting a 'position label' on makes it easy to 'go the man' rather than 'the ball'. Yet it should be the ideas/policies themselves that should be attacked (ie 'the ball').

Re: Political Affiliation - which side are you on?

lets hope... Hope is a good thing! :) I put 'Other' because I don't fit in those boxes - I think they are set up as convenient references for mainly MSM and the parties themselves, and of course, it makes life simple if you can pitch to a 'team of barrackers' rather than pitch to individual truths....
