Re: NBD 89' Warwick Thumb 6 string neck thru

Nice find mate! At that weight I hope your core strength is up to the task! :) Re the machine head, I would personally (and did on every Warwick I owned) replace the machine heads with Hipshot ultralights, it makes a hell of a difference! I put the ultralights on the stuff I build and I love them. ...

I've always thought these were beautiful basses, nice pickup!

My scales are for patient monitoring (brother works in that industry) so I assume they are accurate

Re: NBD 89' Warwick Thumb 6 string neck thru

Looks great, Pete. The nut is the same on mine, interesting concept that wouldn’t be hard to replicate. Pickup position of the bridge pu is pretty extreme but probably contributes to the sound character. 6.2 kgs? Well, no thanks ... . Bring it along on Saturday. Regards, Michael Totally missed that...

NBD 89' Warwick Thumb 6 string neck thru

always wanted a thumb and tried drbass's 4 string but really wanted a 5 or 6 string. thoughts .... it's heavy, in fact unless my Philips medical scales are lying to me and I did it twice it's 6.2kg .... sounds exactly like I thought it would. it's definitely got some fair ware and was in pretty good...

Re: Warwick Corvette 5 string (German) info...

(plus they weigh a ton!!). Think this is an understatement. I just picked up a German 80’s 6 string thumb from bass center and it’s insane how heavy it is compared to my main basses Ooohh a classic Warwick. Nice one Pete - when is the NBD post happening? Didn’t think anyone would be interest...

Re: Cole Clark Long Lady 5

I had an opportunity to meet Neil at his home and play the prototype. It had some interesting switching options to work out what the final sound was going to be like. He definitely put a huge amount of effort into the pickup placement, wiring options and overall tone. And on top of that he’s just a ...

Those Delano pickups I think are totally worth the money. They are by far my favourite.
