Re: Empress Compressor vs TC Spectracomp

They are both good pedals, the Empress is a fantastic bass compressor and the spectracomp does a bunch of things very well too. Curious how often you need to change your compressor's settings on the fly anyway? I pretty much set my compressor at the start and leave it as is, the only tweaking would...

Empress Compressor vs TC Spectracomp

Polar opposites of the spectrum when it comes to real estate on your pedal board, and the amount of control knobs. Obviously with the Tone print software, the options for control of the Spectracomp are actually far greater. I'm considering moving my Empress off my Nano board for a Spectracomp so I c...

That was Bobby dazzlers when he was over here. It went home with him.

Re: Hifi tone and IEMs - Is there are thing going on there?

I think most of us, as stated above use the extended highs to hear ourselves without pure volume. I have drifted more and more to passive basses, and I think it is due to IEM use and knowing how harsh and toppy you can sound with crazy amounts of highs, and knowing that if I'm going to face a gig wh...

Re: Pedalboard for amp-less gigs... GO!

This is my main board I use at IEM gigs, or gigs where I'm using a powered speaker. I have my VT Bass deluxe set up to what I think sounds best in the FOH, the DI goes to the board. The 1/4" out from the VT goes to the Boss GEB-7, and that allows me to change volume to my rig/ears without effecting ...

Great video. As a Toolmaker for 20+ years who is now out of the industry (what industry is left), I miss doing this sort of stuff. Great job, and thanks for sharing.

The public image is Rotten.

A movie about PiL public image limited and Johnny Rotten is doing the rounds of event cinemas in Australia apparently. It's in Adelaide early next week. Has anyone seen it in the eastern started at all this weekend? Interested to know your thoughts.

Re: NAD Reeves Custom 225

Really though, if you had an Ampeg SVT you'd have the 4 best tube amps in the world. How do you pick a winner? :D For plug and play the Orange is there straight away, as is the Fender. The Reeves had a heap more variation in the dials and reacted very differently to the fender 610 and dual NV115s. ...

Have a great time but if we don’t get pictures it never happened!

The challenge, however, is to describe the difference without using the word “girth”.
Lol. Heft it is!
