Re: Warwick 2009 Special Edition Corvette Fretless

If it were an $$, I'd be there to pick it up tomorrow. But it's really nice. For those thinking of it, the Corvette is a nicely balanced bass, unlike my fretless Thumb which has a slight neck dive.

Re: Live, without amps

guitarist "have to drive the amp at it's sweet spot" and "only way to get my sound" Mike We have a guitarist like that, funnily enough, his son plays violin and has the same affliction. Most violin players just plug straight into the desk, but not ours. he brings 2 amps (one for FOH, but tilted up ...

Re: Coupling. How do you lay your cabs?

After my infamous dalliance with the force at a small Roselle pub where the resonant frequency from my cabs caused all the wine glasses above the bar in one corner to leap to their death and the TAB computer was trying to do the same thing, it got me thinking. What sounds good to you when you are st...

Re: FS: 1990 Warwick Thumb NT 4 String

Nice Bass! And it does absolutely nothing. Baseball bat neck, 4 strings only, heavy, despite 34" scale quite hard to play in the money region. It's funny; I've gone the other way. :hmm I've got a Corvette $$ Fretless here that I really wasn't 100% sure about when I first got it (for very ...

Re: TO ALL WORKING BASSISTS

I can see the struggle from both sides. So many bands in the suburbs will work for free because its just a hobby. We wont! I can understand that it is hard to break into the scene and get your band noticed so that it can earn good money, but that hurts the industry and the guys that live off their m...

Re: Record with flats, gig with rounds?

I changed to flats about 8 years ago and have not looked back. I get compliments on the sound of my bass (not the playing) every time I play a gig. Other bass players and other musos are often the ones complimenting the sound. But I don't know if it is the strings, the bass, the amp head, the box I ...

Re: pouch for Relay G30 G50 etc

Benefits - no more clumsy singer stomping on your lead, freedom to move around the stage and also into the crowd if you are so inclined. You can switch it off easilyto change basses and it fires up really quickly when you turn it back on. Negatives - need a little pouch, need to have rechargeable AA...

Re: pouch for Relay G30 G50 etc

I'll let u know, I just bought a second one to have two transmitters, but a mate might want one too, check one, two, one, TWO :) PS at our gig Sat night, I had a Polish and a Czech mate there, so we HAD to tell this joke: I have a Polish friend, he's a roadie, I have a Czech one too, check one TWO ...

Re: pouch for Relay G30 G50 etc

Nice, I just cable tied mine to my strap when the clip broke. I've just upgraded to the relay G10. Let me just say that I am pretty impressed, except for the fact that it doesn't use a normal 9v supply like everything else, it uses a USB power supply. But it works a dream. But apart from that, it is...
