Re: SSL Encryption of Forum

Hi Phil, great news 😁 There is still a problem with emails going out. Easiest way to test, logout and go to the password recovery dialog. I strongly suspect this is related to the original bug post by packrat - Most likely is, maybe it just needs editing of that phpbb file that's looking for a vps....

SSL Encryption of Forum

We're now officially encrypted and safe. All traffic to the forum should be sent directly to the secure website now. If anyone sees any issues that may be related to this let me know over here. We'll try to get those fixed ASAP.

Re: Forum offline tonight from 11pm

Alright, well the webhost just let me know that we now have a secure website. However I need to force the existing website to use the new secure one, should take a day or two before I get the time to do this.

In the meantime if you prefer using the secure site go to https://www.ozbassforum.com

I've got no idea where this comes from. We'll have to look at it and try to figure it out.

Forum offline tonight from 11pm

Due to some backend upgrades the forum will be offline for an hour or so from around 11pm tonight. This work is required to ensure we can slowly roll out SSL encryption to this site

We've actually discussed this in the background for months, it's probably time for me to get this going. It should happen soon.

Hi Kylie, my condoleances for your loss. Sale ads are usually reserved for Supporting Members which comes with a donation to the forum but under your circumstances we'll make an exception. You can go ahead and discuss the subject and try to sell it on this thread.

Re: Maple Fretboard clear coat help

It looks to me like you dissolved a spot of tinted lacquer. If that's the case there's no easy fix except to spray a coat of tinted lacquer that exactly matches the colour of the neck over it, after having cleaned the whole 1st fret area and masking off the rest of the neck of course. Definitely not...

Re: Tom's Headless 5 String Bass - #033

can a wheel be retro-fitted to an Am Stnd Fender? I can't believe I'm supposed to loosen the neck screws just to adjust the truss rod in this day and age. Crazy. If the nuts are the same thread and the hole in the neck is big enough and the length of the hole is appropriate it might work. You would...

Thanks guys :) I love that truss rod wheel, have been using it for years, simplest way to adjust a neck without worrying about stripping the nut.

Re: Tom's Headless 5 String Bass - #033

Thanks guys, hey Matt the customer's in NSW if you want to track him down for the next GTG

It's probably in the angle of the rear neck photo (I assume you meant that one) and the directlion of the Wenge grain that makes it look wonky.
