*The Stolen Gear Thread*

Post by Wwolof » 05 Dec 2008, 09:29

ADMIN EDIT: Post pics of your stolen gear here and details of where and when it was stolen.

This bass, a 1975 P, was recently stolen from me. It has a 2 cm chip through the finish on the lower horn. If you see it could you please contact me?

Thanks.

Are you kidding me? I saw that bass on Ebay sometime this year, don't remember how early it was. The guy wanted $4.5K for it. Shame you can't track old auctions!

Did you say the offenders phone number? So you know who it is? Can't you track them down?

If an authority cannot find an offender after having this much info, including Ebay auction history, seller, paypal acccount info and so on, they're hopeless as well as useless. Maybe they think their resources are better spent elsewhere...

So, you know who it is? Surely you've got friends. Time to pay this thief a visit, en masse.

We need to find a policeman who's also a bass player. THEN you'd see results!!!

but how utterly disappointing, to know the phone number of offender and STILL no action...

I know how it is to have stuff stolen it's just an all-round bummer...you feel violated that someone would take advantage of you...it's important not to take it personally...most thieves have absolutely NO regard as to whom they're ripping off...they'd rob their own mothers (and probably HAVE)

You've got to be sh!tting me? That really p!sses me off!! It makes me want to stop working so hard and just steal all the crap I need. Why not - the cops don't seem to care?

I'm gonna make a phone call. My wife's friend is a Sydney cop. I'll see if he can help in any way? No promises....

Sting? ;)

Seriously though, maybe if you find out who the guy is in one of the state police jazz bands you might be able to get some information. I'm sure they'll sympathise. They might tell you it's not worth pursuing but I'm sure they'd offer some insights.
