Though, it took a dive off my back seat in the car when I was nearly taken out by a taxi driver who was too busy looking at someone trying to wave him down. I had someone local do the work to get it up and running again, but it's not the same. I'm keen to get in contact with one of the guys from Labsystems and try to organise to get my baby back to it's former glory.

I also picked up a Lab 15 but the speaker died. Replaced it with a much more powerful Aussie made speaker, but the brand name escapes me. I'm keen to get my hands on a 4x10 or even a 6x10.

Thanks guys. I'll check out that link.

I'm in Sydney, so freighting a 6x10 might be a bit expensive. Cheers though.

Hi, Can anyone tell me if the "Lab Systems 250 combo 4x10 bass amp" is 250 rms or 250 max? Excuse my ignorance I've only been playing a few years and my Trace Elliot 15 Commando just died so I'm looking at this online and the seller don't know. I just registered so hope this is the right place to ask. Thanks for your time. Cheers

Lab systems power ratings were some of the most conservative in history. It'll be RMS, not peak.

Yep.

But just check that its 250 watts actually gets delivered to the internal cab. If it has a 8 ohm external cab connection its likely to be only putting out 175 watts on its own.

Someone who knows this model might chime in.

I've got that amp as a head. It's the series before it, but it's nearly identical. I've never played a gig where I needed more power. Think more like 400 watts. It's very punchy and super clean. That combo will probably be on the heavy side, but it'll be pretty awesome.

Thanks to everyone for input and advice. I think I can turn my dead Trace Elliot into a 15" cab but either way I'm making an offer on the Lab System. Thanks again

While I'm here, I just bought an absolute museum piece condition SS600, been used 5 times since brand new, 1 owner. Not a mark on it!

Hi all, I have had a 2nd hand LabSystems 4x100 cab for about 14 years, barely used because I never got a decent head for it, the head I was using was an old 2x200 PA amp and my shed would start shaking at vol 3.

No model number, no plates. I tried tracking it down, it's basically a 410 but with the wider Labsystems blue badge dead center front and EV brand stamped speakers. Hence why I am searching forums for threads like this. I'm trying to value it as I want money for a new synth.

I ended up emailing Tim of (ex)Labsystems and he was gracious enough to promptly reply and tell me it was the first 410 they made back in late 80's. This is why I couldn't even find it on their website (archives go back to 1999). Here's a link to the archives for those interested, this 115 shows the badge that mine has. http://wayback.archive.org/web/20010616 ... page_1.htm

He told me it was 'too heavy' so I guess they modified that in future models, (it's defo a two man lift, one man drag job). It also has brand stamped EV speakers which recent models don't? Are these two things an advantage or a handicap to sale price?

Anyhow, if anyone can think what ball park figure I should be asking for, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

I think it is against the rules for a non supporting member to fish for price info

but, I'll give you ten bucks for it.

Heavy is not what the modern bassist wants, except in metal lol

Class D amp heads and Neo speakers, is the current tech, but people still use svts and fridges, I assume they play big stages and have roadies hehe
