Looks like a typical gloss 70s neck finish to me. 70s Fenders are hit and miss, but that looks like it's been played to within an inch of it's life, which would indicate it's a bloody good bass. Or, the owner is a bodybuilder, or it's not as heavy as most 70s Fenders :D

Either way, still a very good price, and I would hit it if I didn't already have a very nice Fullerton era Fender.
