A very quick announcement - as many of you are aware, Photobucket has caused a bit of grief with a policy change recently, and many people are scrambling to find a new photo hosting service that can be used for displaying images "inline" in forum posts.
Long story short, we have found a plugin for the forums to make the process of embedding photos, videos (and more!) significantly easier. The change does not impact the previous method of using [img] tags/copying BB code from a hosting site, that will still work, but it does open up the possibility of rendering media content from many many more sites, without having to use direct linked, BBcode formatted posts.
But for many sites (more than 100!) you can now just paste the url into your post, no tags, and it will display the content inline.
Example 1, Pics:
Flickr - just copying and pasting the image url:
Imgur - copy and paste the post url
Example 2, Video:
Youtube - just copy and paste the url, https or not, no tags required:
You can even use the shortened share version of the youtu.be url
Vimeo - just copy and paste the url:
Cool? I think so
