I was in my son's (aged 9) classroom yesterday for school Open Day, and on the whiteboard from the previous day were a series of questions about the Adam Goode's booing affair. The class had to write their answers down. I found his answers, and my son's pragmatism about sport came to the fore -

Q. How do you think Adam Goodes should respond to the booing?
A. He should retire, because he is 35.

Proud father moment yesterday. My young bloke (aged 9) is playing his first season of rugby league after 4 years of soccer, and he scored 2 tries and a conversion yesterday - all his team's points. I never scored more than one try in a game, and I was never a goalkicker, so he's already way in front of me

^Very cool!

I played grid iron in my youth... No chance of my boy doing that... But he's really into soccer... He's a solid player and playing up (he's 11 playing in an under 12's comp)...

They finished the regular season 12-0 with 96 goals for and only 4 against :)

He's only scored 8 goals this season, but has contributed to many... 2 weeks ago he had 4 goals in 17-0 rout against one of the poorer teams in the comp.

My business partner came in today to tell about his little grandson's soccer success - scored 3 goals - 2 for his team and 1 for the opposition - so he's still in front

lol!

my youngest girl played a couple of years ago (not interested this year)... there was a boy on the team that would consistently score goals for both sides :)

I heard that's really good. Will have to catch up on it soon.

This week we're in the midst of binge watching True Detective series 2.

True Detective 2 copped a lot of flack - I loved season 1 but haven't bothered with 2 - would like to hear you opinion

It's complex and really hard to keep up with all the intricacies. I'm up to episode 5 and will readily confess that there are a few things that have happened so far that I still don't understand, because there are so many intertwining characters - I can't keep track of it all. But despite that, it's gripping, well filmed, and the acting is top rate. Also, there are no thick southern accents to decipher in this one.

I just hope the ending isn't as lame as season 1.

20 to 30 million schmucks paid to try to hook up with maybe 2,500 women. Now they are probably copping heaps of flack and the chances of them having an affair from the site are almost zero.

I'm no prude, but I really hated that stupid AM ad,with the lehmo lookalike singing "..looking for someone other than my WIFE"

well mate, grow some kahunas, divorce her and BAM you can hook up with anyone you want.
